Client

Nottingham Dental is an established member of the Sherwood Park community in Alberta, with a team of 4 dentists and 20 professionals. They focus on delivering high-quality oral care and building trusting relationships with their patients.

Situation

The team has around 3-4 receptionists to overlook various administrative processes. Despite using a dental practice management software, there are still important parts of their operations that were manual and can be made more efficient.

Their business operations involved:

  • Downloadable PDF patient intake forms on their website
  • Manual input of data from forms into dental practice management software
  • Paper-based timesheets and schedules
  • Internal documentation stored in Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox

James Chen, the owner of Nottingham Dental, recognized that with new competition moving into the area, the clinic will need to operate more efficiently and adapt to a younger demographic.

Our team was asked by James to act as their digital advisor as part of the Canada Digital Adoption Program. We assisted this business in identifying areas in their operations that can benefit from technology and to develop a digital adoption plan.

Project Goals

  • To understand the current state of their strategic goals, business model and process challenges, and current technology
  • To analyze and identify the most impactful technology options for their business
  • To develop an implementation roadmap

Impact & Results

We identified 9 technology initiatives to help increase the efficiency of their business processes.

These include:

  • Digitizing patient intake forms and integration into their practice management software
  • Implementing an HR software to support process and documentation
  • Refreshing their brand and website to reflect a more modern experience

As a result of the recommended technology initiatives, the impact on the business will be:

  • A reduction in manual data entry/effort
  • An improvement in data security
  • Increased efficiency and streamlining of operations
  • A better experience for their patients

"After this experience of developing my digital adoption plan, I now better understand how and where technology can positively impact my business and help me reach my business goals. The team at Cue North was great to work with and I’d highly recommend them as digital advisors."
